Refund policy
At Palmetto Bibles, every Bible is rebound by hand and made specifically for you. Because each rebind is a custom piece created for a single customer, it cannot simply be returned to inventory or resold like a standard retail product. For that reason, our return and refund policy is a little different.
Please take a moment to read the policy below before placing your order.
Deposits
A $100 deposit reserves your place in our rebinding queue and allows us to begin sourcing the leather, ribbons, endpapers, and other materials selected for your Bible.
Deposits are non-refundable.
Cancellations After Work Begins
Once we begin working on your Bible, including removing it from its original cover, the rebinding process cannot be reversed. At that point, we are unable to offer a refund.
If something has gone wrong or your circumstances have changed, please reach out to us. We would always rather work with you to find a solution than have you end up with a Bible you aren't happy with.
Our Craftsmanship Guarantee
We stand behind the quality of our work. If your Bible experiences a failure of the binding, stitching, hinges, or edge work under normal use, please contact us. We will repair or rebuild the affected area at no charge.
Our craftsmanship guarantee does not cover damage caused by water, fire, pets, accidents, misuse, or normal wear to the leather surface. We are, however, happy to discuss repair options for this type of damage and provide a quote when possible.
What Is Not Considered a Defect
Because every Bible is handcrafted and every piece of leather is unique, we do not accept returns or offer refunds based solely on personal preference.
For example:
-
“I don't like the leather now that I see it in person.”
-
“The leather feels too soft.”
-
“The leather feels too stiff.”
-
“The color isn't an exact match to the photo.”
Leather is a natural material, and no two hides are exactly alike. Scars, wrinkles, range marks, variations in grain, and differences in tone are natural characteristics of genuine full-grain leather and are not considered defects.
Colors can also appear differently depending on lighting, screens, and photography. While we make every effort to represent our leathers accurately, no photograph can perfectly reproduce the color and character of the actual hide.
If you're unsure about a particular leather before placing your order, please contact us. We're happy to answer questions, provide additional photos when available, or help you choose a leather that better fits what you're looking for.
Damage During Shipping
We carefully package every Bible before it leaves Palmetto Bibles. If your Bible arrives damaged, please take photographs of the shipping box and the Bible as soon as possible, preferably before removing or discarding any packaging materials.
Please contact us within 7 days of delivery with photographs and a description of the damage. We will work with you to determine the best way to resolve the issue.
